Welcome & support to city municipal

Cadaado, also known as Adado, is a key town in Somalia’s central Galgaduud region, often called the “Blue City” for its natural beauty. It has grown into a vital hub linking Somalia’s north and south through trade, governance, and infrastructure. In 1978, under President Mohamed Siad Barre, Cadaado was officially declared a full district, marking the start of its formal administrative role. From 2008 to 2015, it served as the capital of Himan and Heeb State, strengthening its political and administrative influence through local institutions and grassroots governance. In 2015, Cadaado hosted the pivotal meetings that led to the creation of Galmudug State, making it a central player in Somalia’s federalization process. As of 2023, Cadaado’s population is estimated at 510,654, making it one of the largest towns in Galgaduud. It remains a bustling center for trade, services, and regional leadership. The city is currently led by Mayor Farah Dirie Warsame, who is driving efforts to expand infrastructure, enhance services, and improve the lives of all residents.
